Nias Island. Nias Island is located 125 km in the Weast on the Sumatra Island in the Indian Ocean. It is part of the North Province of Sumatra. The water that surrounds the island is perfect for many sea activities, like surf and diving. Local culture is very interesting and each tourist leeve his heart. In Nias there are many prehistoric ruins of the Megalithic and Stone-Age period, that could belong to the most ancient Indonesian Megalithic culture. 

First surfers called this islan "Paradise on Hearth". On top of its white sand beach*, Lagundry Bay charms all surfers with its perfect waves. In the best period waves can be 3 - 4 meters hight and Sorake Beach's wave in Lagundry Bay had been put among the ten best waves all over the world. It's true thinking that a lot of surfers say that Sorake's wave is the most famous right reef wave in the world! Every year this spot welcomes a WQS qualification step. Each surfer might prepare his heart to the island: you don't ever want to leave at the end of the trip.
Why Nias? Surfcamp is sensitive to social themes, very close to the assertable tourism, and after a survey trip, had decided to open a new destination according to this direction. After the Tzunami 2004 and the earthquake 2005 that caused a deep economical crisis, local population reacted and keep on doing, rebuilding and inviting each traveler to live an unforgettable experience.
