Surf Spot Maldive
Villingilimathi Huraa (Kuda Villingili), Uninhabited island. Located in the Easter of Male Nord Atoll. A long and speedy left wave with 2 sections. It needs very well conditions.
Best winds are NW-NWE (offshore).
Called in this way for the chicken growers of the island.
Thulusdhoo, Atoll Capital. Located in the East of Male Nord Atoll: a short but powerful wave, with a big section that tube, a steep take off with a deep inside. You can surf it with medium and high tide, and if the swell is bigger you can surf also with low tide.
Best conditions are south swell and NW winds.
Called in this way for the Coca Cola factory on the near island. You can see palms and white beaches.
Lohifushi Island Resort. Located in the East of Male Nord Atoll: good, long and deep left wave with 2 steep sections. It needs big swell from SE and high tide.
Best conditions are NW-NE offshore winds.
Called in this way for the Lohifushi resort. Only resort's clients can are allowed to surf here.
Kanifinolhu Resort. Located in the East of Male Nord Atoll: slow right wave, when it's small it is accessible also to intermediate surfers.
Best on W-NW winds and moderate swell.
Called in this way because Japanese surfers look like Ninjas.
Tari Village Resort (Kanu Huraa). Located in the East of Male Nord Atoll: long and perfect left wave, it catches more swell than the others picks. Macaroni Bowl is the second section, that startes after the steep take off and become a big tube.
Best winds: N and NE-NW.
Only Dhonveli Resort 's clients are allowed to surf.
Thamburudhoo (Uninhabited Island).Located in the East of male Nord Atoll: good and perfect right wave, world-class. It is one of the most powerfull waves of male Nord, never close out, also with biggest swell. You make the take off on an outside pick called Phantomas.
Best on high tide with all winds from W to N.
Thamburudhoo left (Uninhabited Island), close to Sultans. It's a long left wave, starting small and growing in the second section. If the take off is 6 ft, the second section is 8 ft and it is called Fred's Ledge, with a big tube.
Best on low tides. Best winds are ENE-N (it's the only wave working with ENE winds).
