Costa Rica is a must surf destination for any surfer searching for that quality wave. Here you can find every kind of break, from the classical beach break with crystal clear waters for the beginner through to that perfect spot for the most advanced surfer, most of all it’s world famous for powerful points and perfect barrels. The swell arrives to the coast from every direction with some breaks being really close to the shore and others so isolated that they are only reachable by boat. Our surf camp is situated in the North-West of the Pacific Coast. This area is called the Guanacaste Region, which boasts perfect waves all year round.
In summer time the big swells arrive from the south, in winter (the dry season) the swell arrives from the North of the Pacific Ocean, during this period the waves are smaller however the off-shore winds make it a pleasure to surf. There are always quality waves here! Last but not least you can surf all year round without a wetsuit because the water is always warm!


Best Months: May to September for wave size and from December to April for the best weather conditions. Costa Rica is considered the ‘Central American’s Switzerland’ because of its peaceful policy, there are no revolutions here, in fact the standard of living is amongst the highest in America. Costaricans’ are genuine people who are always extremely helpful and friendly which is typical of the Latin culture.
