SURF SCHOOL

Surf classes starting on Monday till Friday 2h/day for 5 days per week. You will learn to surf on special surfboards (usually mini mal with good flotation) that are considered ideal for the first steps in the ocean. Depending on your weight and size you will get a suitable surfboard ideal for your specifications. Lessons are held normally in the beach (Cantinho da Baía) just in front of the Surf Club, but depending on surf and weather conditions the instructors will choose the most appropriate surf break in one´s of Peniche many beaches.

During the first days of the beginners course you will learn basic surfing skills in logical steps that build one upon the next: body position on the board, correct paddling, sitting on the board, diving with the board, technique to go through the foam(Eskimo-roll) controlled falling, paddling for waves, riding broken waves without standing up, movement for standing up, standing up(take-off), and finally surfing with control and confidence. The Baleal Surf Camp Instructors are all local surfers with a profound knowledge of the beaches and waves of Peniche area. They all have the Portuguese Federation Surfing instructor certificate as well the life guard certificate.

SURFARIS

Baleal, thanks to its localization on the Atlantic Ocean and to it’s coast conformation, can offer perfect waves and many swell from North, South and Weast for surfing big! There are several spot and the most known is Supertubos, well know for its tubes. All around 15km of coast you can surf Consolaçao, Foz do Arelho, Baia, Molo Leste, etc... good spots for all levels, from intermediate to expert!
