Surfaris in Australia
the base itinerary is a 2 week tour from Sydney to Brisbane.
now the real trip begins; after organizing supplies and filling up the water tanks let’s travel Australia “on the road”…with the most breathtaking landscapes. The bush, forest, farmland and always another beach around the corner. Then we drive to the Raymond Terrace Peninsula, where we will find perfect and uncroweded beach breaks and sleep very close to the massive sand-dunes. This could be the place that we meet the dolphins for the first time.

after a few day we have the chance for a splendid few days with Kim (an expert and charismatic surfer) and his friend at one of the best spots on the coast with amazing scenery and waves.
there are many good spots in the area and after enjoying Byron head furhter north to the Gold Coast, stopping always to check for waves and wonderful places to stay overnight.
once arriving in the ‘Sunshine State’ we will spend a few days at the hostel British Arms. Even if our philosophy is to stay away from the crowds as much as possible, we couldn’t miss the chance to surf some of the worlds’ most famous spots just once, such as D-bah, Snapper Rocks, the Superbank and Burleigh Heads. After almost two weeks camping along the coast, Surfers Paradise is the place to party and we will take you on a ‘pub crawl’ to enjoy the aussie style night life.
transfer to Brisbane airport to depart.
If you decide to stay another week this is what is waiting
for you:
We will continue north and through the Sunshine Coast, with
plenty of beautiful spots to arrive at Noosa Heads. Noosa
is the australian capital of longboarding where Tom Wegener
lives. Have you ever watched the surf movie Sprouts? Tom
is a great person as well as a very good longboarder and
a unique shaper. Tom creates wooden surf boards just like
the original shapers. A pure soul who will be happy to share
with us some of his knowledge about classic longboarding.
If we are lucky he may show us how he makes some of his
masterpieces.
Trekking into the Noosa Heads National Park, the perfect
place to meet some of the funny animals like koalas, kookaburra
(the funny bird that screams like a monkey) and goannas
(a really big native lizard) fully surrounded by the subtropical
rainforest.
A visit to a didgeridoo camp (inland) where you can try
to play the typical wind instrument from far North Queensland
and why not buy one to bring home.
